Ingredients and preparation:

A famous case, a large piece of baked meat is the decoration of any festive table. Ways to cook meat in a whole piece — a lot. And from what to cook, there are enough options.

I bought a pork ham of 4 kg and asked the butcher to remove the bone.

At home, he divided it into two parts.

Wash meat and dry it. Cut off excess fat — still useful.
This time I decided to cook it in my sleeve. Many people, hearing about the sleeve, immediately reject it for some reason. In the sleeve, the cooked meat, in my opinion, is much more gentle, and the time for cooking is less.

Prepare the mixture:

Chop the bay leaves.
Thyme, salt, pepper, bay leaf and combine and mix well. Grate the meat with the prepared mixture, wrap in a film and put in the refrigerator for the night.

In a sleeve lay, cut into large pieces of onions, whole cloves of garlic, put on top the meat, a couple of peas and a laurel.

Tie up the sleeve and send the meat to the oven heated to 180 ° C for 40 minutes.

At the same time I cooked potatoes in a country style. Cut large potatoes, add the onions mixture of spices, as you like, pour with vegetable oil, mix well and bake in the oven. In the end, salt with a large salt.
We get the meat.
We cut the sleeve, put the meat on the baking sheet, fill it with potatoes from all directions and send it to the oven at a temperature of 200 ° C for 10 minutes for a nice crust.

We take out of the oven and give the meat a little rest, cut it in portions and treat it.
